About MTC Optics
MTC Optics is a premium brand in the optics world. Their mantra – Designed by Shooters for Shooters – could not be more apt. So their scopes are used by airgun, rimfire and centrefire shooters across all genres – sporting, hunting, plinking, target and extreme competition. MTC offers a vast range of models and designs to suit your every shooting need.
Scope Features
Though designed to be compact, the MTC Copperhead 3-12×44 F2 Scope is based around a 30mm, aircraft grade aluminium tube. This is a zoom telescopic sight, with a variable magnification range of 3x power to 12x power. At 44mm, its objective lens is slightly larger than usual and also multi-coated. This ensures the target image is bright, even in low-light conditions and when the scope is zoomed to full power.
This Copperhead model features MTC’s own AMD2 multi-aimpoint reticle. This provides plenty of aimpoints to counter trajectory and windage deviation without obscuring the target. The F2 model’s crosshair is set in the second focal plane (SFP) which can also help with range-finding.
IR Illuminated Reticle
The MTC Copperhead 3-12×44 F2 Scope comes with an illuminated reticle (IR). Operated by a side dial, the centre of the reticle lights up in red. Also, you can choose from six different brightness levels to suit any lighting scenario. So you can keep shooting long after the sun has dipped below the horizon!
The new scope also features precise click-stop elevation and windage adjustment turrets. These adjust in MILs. 1 click =1cm at 100m. You can use a MIL-rated reticle for range-finding.
External Adjustment Turrets
Besides resettable verniers, the adjustment turrets are also push-pull lockable. This ensures you do not inadvertently knock your scope off its setting.
Sidewheel Parallax
Parallax error is a major cause of inaccuracy. MTC’s Copperhead series of scopes feature a sidewheel that lets you easily dial out this error. On higher magnifications, parallax adjustment can also help you range-find like this.
The Copperhead’s parallax adjusts from infinity down to just 10 yards. This is particularly useful for airgunners, who often shoot at close range. To set the primary focus, this scope features a quick-turn eyepiece with dioptre adjustment. This is useful for shooters who wear spectacles.
Lens Covers
The MTC Copperhead 3-12×44 F2 Scope comes complete with a set of flip-up lens covers as standard.
